Oboe

Sheila Alcalá has been a dedicated oboe professor at the Royal Professional Conservatory of Music of Almería since the 2008–2009 academic year. She earned her professional oboe degree under the guidance of Santiago Mollar at the "Mestre Tárrega" Professional Conservatory of Music in Castellón. She later completed her advanced studies with Vicente Llimerá at the "Salvador Seguí" Superior Conservatory, where her outstanding performance was recognized with the prestigious End of Degree Award.

Driven by a broad musical curiosity, she returned to the conservatory to specialize in baroque oboe with Albert Romaguera, and she also holds a degree in Music Education from the Universitat Jaume I. Dedicated to continuous artistic growth, she has honed her craft in masterclasses with internationally renowned oboists such as Alfredo Bernardini, Andreas Wittmann, Thomas Indermühle, Christoph Hartmann, and Hansjörg Schellenberger.

A passionate chamber musician, Sheila has been a member of the Bessozi Trio, the Aulos Quartet, and the Charonia Ensemble. Her orchestral experience is equally varied, featuring collaborations with the Balearic Symphony Orchestra, the Illa de Menorca Chamber Orchestra, the Castellón Symphony Orchestra, and the Roquetas de Mar Baroque Orchestra. Currently, she continues her active performing career as a member of the Indaliana Foundation for Music and the Arts (FIMA) and the Charonia wind quintet.
