Trombone
Pedro Pastor has been principal trombone of the Orquesta Ciudad de Almería since 2001, a member of Granada Brass, and a professor at the Municipal Band of Granada since 2007.
He began his musical studies within the Macael Music Band (Almería), under the guidance of José Ignacio Pellicer and Francisco José Pérez. He later trained at the conservatoires of Almería, Málaga, and Granada.
From 1997 to 2001, he was a member of the Orquesta Joven de Andalucía. He has received lessons from renowned professors such as Mario Calvo, Inda Bonet, Francisco Rosario, Ricardo Casero, Raúl García, John Kenny, Miguel Rivera, Bart Van Nieuwenhuyze, David Rejano, Jörgen van Rijen, George Curran, Stefan Schulz, and Joseph Alessi. His principal mentor was Dominique Rombaut (†).
He has worked with conductors such as Michael Thomas, Juan de Udaeta, Ángel López Carreño, Enrique García Asensio, Antoni Ros Marbá, Pablo González, Karl Solack, Johannes Ullrich, Jacques Bodmer, Dmitri Liss, Manuel Hernández Silva, Gabriel Feltz, Alexander Rahbari, Miguel Á. Gómez Martínez, Pablo Heras-Casado, and Vladimir Ashkenazy, as well as soloists including Plácido Domingo, Maxim Vengerov, Carlos Álvarez, Mariola Cantarero, Jesús Reina, and Ara Malikian, among others.
He has been principal trombone of the Young Artist Symphony Orchestra - Richard Wagner Festival in Bayreuth, Germany, and has collaborated with the Spanish National Orchestra and Choir, Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra, Córdoba Orchestra, Extremadura Orchestra, Andalusian Philharmonic Orchestra, Málaga Symphony Orchestra, Bética Chamber Orchestra, Andalusian Lyric Company Orchestra, and Zelig Art Ensemble (Belgium). He has also been a member of Rombaut Trombone 4tet, Minimal Bones Trombone Quartet, and Oniria-Sacabuche.
As a professor, he has been invited to numerous festivals and conservatoires, including the Eduardo del Pueyo International Course (Granada), Spanish Trombonists Association (ATE), Andalucía Brass Academy, Málaga Trombone Association (AMAT), Córdoba Higher Conservatoire, Málaga Higher Conservatoire, Badajoz Higher Conservatoire, and professional institutions in Granada, Córdoba, Jaén, Francisco Guerrero de Sevilla, Almería, Fuengirola, Lucena, Guadix, Algeciras, and Baza.
He also regularly collaborates as a trombone and brass professor at the Orquesta Joven de Almería (OJAL) and has been invited on numerous occasions as a professor at the Orquesta Joven de Andalucía (OJA).
He has participated in concerts, tours, and recordings with artists and ensembles from various musical styles, including Joan Manuel Serrat, Miguel Ríos, Raphael, David Bisbal, Eskorzo, Lagartija Nick, Tomatito, Estrella Morente, Miguel Poveda, Antonio Serrano, Vicente Amigo, Dorantes, El Lebrijano, Esperanza Fernández, Maria Schneider, Bobby Watson, Wayne Escoffery, Itiberê Zwarg, Eric Alexander, Antonio Hart, Celia Mur, Toni Belenguer, Ramón Cardo, Perico Sambeat, David Pastor, Enrique Oliver, Daahoud Salim, José Carra, Voro García, Andreu Pitarch, Sergi Vergés, Bori Albero, Julián Sánchez, Lluís Vidal, Clasijazz Big Band, Granada Big Band, Ool-Ya-Koo Big Band, and O Sister!
He is an artist for Sonas handcrafted trombones and has actively contributed to the design and development of the Stelo (tenor), Aural (alto), and Eklipso (bass) models
