Olena Miso was born in 1991 into a musical family in Ukraine, where her musical path began at an early age. She studied at the Solomiya Krushelnytska Special Music School for Gifted Children in Lviv, and continued her education at the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine in Kyiv, completing both her Master’s degree and postgraduate assistantship under Professor Yuri Kot. Driven by a constant search for new artistic horizons, she pursued advanced studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz in Austria, where she earned three degrees with distinction under the guidance of Professors Milana Chernyavska and Chia Chou.
An artist of exceptional versatility, Olena is a laureate of more than 15 national and international competitions, having won first prizes in Austria, Italy, Serbia, Spain, and Ukraine. Among her numerous distinctions are the gold medal at the Martha Debelli Scholarship Competition, the Begabtenstipendium der Stadt Graz, and a scholarship from the Clavarte Foundation in Berlin.
As a soloist, Olena has appeared with the National Orchestra of Ukraine, the Lviv Chamber Orchestra (touring in Ukraine and Poland), and the ÖSRM Orchestra in Spain. Her performances have brought her to many renowned stages across Europe and beyond, earning her recognition as an expressive and thoughtful interpreter.
Chamber music is at the heart of her artistic identity. Since 2022, she has been collaborating intensively with acclaimed German cellist Johannes Krebs. Their duo captivates audiences with a wide-ranging and emotionally rich repertoire, and they maintain an active concert schedule throughout Europe.
Olena’s passion for chamber music has also brought her to festivals such as the International Chamber Music Festival Colluvio (Styria), the International Music Festival MozArt, and the Neuburg Culture Days. In 2018, she toured Mexico and China with cellist Anna Isabel Chan Flores, further expanding her international profile.
Her piano trio, SoloWay, has been praised for its artistry and cohesion, with several recording projects produced at KUG and broadcasts on ORF. The trio’s interpretations of works by Franz Schubert and Anton Arensky were recently featured on Radio Klassik.
Alongside her performing career, Olena is deeply committed to education. Since 2021, she has been serving as Senior Lecturer for Accompaniment at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, where she inspires the next generation of musicians through her teaching and artistic insight.
