Miguel Baró.

Cello

Miguel Baró was born in Murcia into a family of musicians. He began his musical training with the piano before eventually choosing the cello, leading him to enrol at the Professional Conservatoire of Molina de Segura (Murcia). At the age of twelve, he won the National “Villa de Molina” Competition held in the same town.

In 2020, he completed his higher studies in Cello in Murcia with top marks, earning him the Extraordinary Prize of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia. He went on to pursue a Master’s degree in Musical Research and another in Solo Performance at the Katarina Gurska School in Madrid, under the guidance of Aldo Mata, finishing in 2023.

As for orchestral experience, Miguel has been a regular collaborator with the Symphony Orchestra of the Region of Murcia since 2018. He has further enriched his musical education through various courses with renowned masters such as Ludwig Quandt, Mikhail Milman, Nadège Rochat, Alexandre Castro-Balbi, Pavel Gomziakov, and Nina Lee. Alongside this, he has engaged in chamber music with various ensembles, most notably Duo Millos—a cello duo founded to bring classical music to wider audiences through modern music. Since 2019, they have performed across Spain.

In 2022, he qualified as a solicitor and is currently registered as member number 8104 with the Bar Association of Murcia. This legal side complements his cultural pursuits, having completed a Master’s degree in Cultural Management at the Complutense University of Madrid. He also produces and directs the concert series “Da Capo”, sponsored by the CajaMurcia Foundation. Launched in 2023, the project aims to spotlight lesser-known works and challenge the stereotypes surrounding classical music, making it more appealing to the general public.

To this end, he explores various formats, including social media activity, talks and lectures, and the hosting of a weekly radio programme on Onda Regional de Murcia
