Juan Andrés Carmona Valdivia is a highly accomplished Spanish violinist, admired for his exceptional talent and deep commitment to his craft. He holds a Master's degree in Music and Violin Performance from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, where he was awarded the prestigious TCM Trust scholarship. This allowed him to study under renowned instructors John Crawford for violin and Jonathan Tilbrook for orchestral conducting. His early education began at the Royal Conservatory of Almería, followed by training in Murcia with Prof. Joaquín Palomares, and later advanced mentorship with Olga Vilkomirskaia, a distinguished pedagogue and student of the legendary violinist David Oistrakh.
Over the years, Juan Andrés has had the privilege of receiving masterclasses and guidance from esteemed musicians such as Detlef Hahn, Michael Thomas (Brodsky Quartet), Mayumi Fujikawa, Elena Mikhailovskaya, Kay Gleusteen, Miguel Pérez Espejo, Igor Sulyga (Kopelman Quartet), Levon Chilingirian, and Zsolt-Tihamér Visontay. He has also achieved significant recognition, including First prize in the “Acordes Caja Madrid” National Chamber Music Competition, and was a finalist in the Vera Kantrovich Competition (London, 2012) and the “Ruperto Chapí” International Music Competition (2003).
His career has brought him to stages across the world, including the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, China, Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Juan Andrés has performed with esteemed orchestras such as the Tokyo Baroque Orchestra, Hong Kong City Chamber Orchestra, Almería City Orchestra, Murcia Symphony Orchestra, Extremadura Baroque Orchestra, and the BBC Concert Orchestra. He currently serves as a core member of the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong, directs his own chamber ensemble "Asiartic Camerata", and devotes himself to teaching, performing, and mentoring musicians.
