Francisco Montero, a pianist of extraordinary talent, has captivated audiences in some of the world’s most prestigious venues, including the iconic Carnegie Hall and the Lincoln Center in the United States, as well as renowned concert halls in the United Kingdom, China, Italy, Germany, Austria, Portugal, and throughout the major cities of Spain. His virtuosity has been celebrated in the field of broadcasting, with recordings for the esteemed David Dubal programme on WQXR in New York, including his participation in "The Green Space" and the special "The Piano in Spain," in addition to collaborations with BBC Radio 3 in London.

In 2017, Francisco released his debut album with the KNS Classical label, titled New York Dreams. This work, which features masterpieces by Brahms, Scriabin, and Liszt, is available on platforms such as Amazon, Spotify, iTunes, and Rhapsody, further cementing his reputation as a distinguished recording artist.

A recipient of numerous international accolades, Francisco Montero has been awarded, among others, First Prize at the Windsor International Piano Competition in London, followed by the Grand Prize at the New York Artists International Competition, which led to his performance at Carnegie Hall in the summer of 2015. Amongst his many honours are also First Prizes at the ENKOR International Piano Competition, the New York International Music Concours, and the Marian Garcia International Piano Competition. Furthermore, he has received Second Prize at the Barber Piano Concerto Competition at the Juilliard School and prestigious awards at the Esteban Sánchez, Ciutat de Carlet, and Pedro Bote competitions.

Born in 1991, Francisco began his musical studies in Seville under the tutelage of Ignacio Torner and Tatiana Postnikova, the latter a solo pianist with the Royal Seville Symphony Orchestra (ROSS). He later continued his artistic journey in Badajoz, studying under the renowned Alexander Kandelaki, a disciple of the Heinrich Neuhaus tradition. Over more than four years, he refined his craft in London with Christopher Elton, Head of the Piano Department at the Royal Academy of Music.

Francisco earned his Piano Diploma from the Conservatorio Superior de Música "Bonifacio Gil" in Badajoz, graduating with the Extraordinary End-of-Course Award. In 2015, he completed his Master of Music at The Juilliard School, guided by the esteemed Julian Martin. He subsequently achieved his Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Piano Performance at Pennsylvania State University under the mentorship of Dr José Ramón Méndez, graduating in 2018.

Currently, Francisco Montero is a Professor of Repertoire with Piano for Instruments at the Conservatorio Superior de Música "Manuel Castillo" in Seville. As a performer, he is a frequent presence on some of the city’s prominent stages, such as the Espacio Turina, as well as collaborating with the ROSS at the Teatro de la Maestranza and the esteemed Zahir Ensemble.
