Artem Keshabyan is a Spanish violinist of Armenian origin, born in Managua, Nicaragua. He currently resides in Berlin with his family. From a very young age, he displayed a profound passion for music, beginning his violin studies at the age of five under the tutelage of his father, Rafael Keshabyan.
His formal musical education commenced at the School of Music in Murcia, where he attended both the basic and intermediate levels, achieving the highest marks. Subsequently, he broadened his studies at renowned institutions such as the "Vasileostrovskaya" School of Music in Saint Petersburg, the Superior Conservatory of Music of Murcia “Manuel Masotti Little” with Professor Joaquín Palomares, and later at the Superior Conservatory of Music of Badajoz, where he was a pupil of the celebrated violinist Olga Vilkomirskaia, a disciple of David Oistrakh. Between 2007 and 2010, he studied at the Orchestral Academy of the Barenboim-Said Foundation in Seville under Professor Axel Wilczok, who continued to guide him at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock until he completed his artistic training in 2013.
Throughout his career, Artem has amassed a wealth of orchestral experience. He has been a member and collaborator with numerous orchestras in Germany and Spain, including the Staatskapelle Schwerin, Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock, Philharmonie Südwestfalen, Neubrandenburger Philharmonie, and the Staatstheater Cottbus, among many others. He has held roles as concertmaster and deputy concertmaster in several of these ensembles. Additionally, he was a member of the Classical Concert Chamber Orchestra and the Camerata de Murcia, and he actively participated in the youth orchestras of the Region of Murcia and Andalusia from an early age. Artem is frequently sought after for prestigious recording sessions at Teldex Studio Berlin, reflecting his versatility both on stage and in the realm of studio music.
His talent has been recognised in multiple international competitions. Among his awards are the First Prize and the "Jean Ter Merguerian" Award at the International "Renaissance" Competition (Armenia, 2013), the First Prize and the Audience Award at the "Hopes, Talents & Masters" competition (Bulgaria, 2009), as well as various national awards in Spain since his adolescence.
As a soloist, he has performed in prominent venues such as the Teatro Monumental in Madrid—with live broadcasts on television and Spain’s National Radio—and at international festivals for young orchestras.
Artem is a polyglot musician, speaking Spanish, Russian, Armenian, German and English fluently, and he also has a basic knowledge of French. He currently continues his artistic and pedagogical work from Berlin, skilfully balancing his professional career with his family life.
