An accomplished Italian double bassist, educator, and chamber musician, Andrea Pino earned his diploma at the historic "G. Rossini" Conservatoire in Pesaro. He subsequently refined his technique under the tutelage of Libero Lanzilotta and expanded his training through masterclasses with some of the instrument's leading figures, including Bernard Salles, Thierry Barbé, Wolfgang Güttler, and Franco Petracchi.
Throughout his career, he has maintained a vibrant and distinguished concert schedule spanning both chamber and symphonic repertoire. He has collaborated with highly prestigious orchestral institutions—most notably the Orchestra of the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Orchestra of the Teatro Regio in Turin, the "Arturo Toscanini" Orchestra in Parma, the "Giuseppe Verdi" Symphony Orchestra in Milan, the Orchestra Internazionale d'Italia, and the Camerata Strumentale Città di Prato, gaining extensive experience as a section principal.
His profound musicality has brought him to internationally renowned stages, including the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, and the Joy of Music Festival in Hong Kong. Furthermore, he has undertaken numerous tours across Europe and Asia, performing under the baton of legendary maestros such as Riccardo Muti, Sir Neville Marriner, Myung-Whun Chung, Ennio Morricone, Isaac Karabtchevsky, and Patrick Fournillier.
Having held the position of Principal Double Bass with the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong from 2014 to 2025, he currently serves as a double bass professor at the "Giovanni Paisiello" State Conservatoire of Music in Taranto, Italy. He seamlessly balances his teaching commitments with his roles as principal double bass for the Collegium Musicum in Bari and the Orchestra di Matera e della Basilicata. Alongside his orchestral and pedagogical work, he pursues an enriching career as a soloist, deeply committed to promoting and elevating the great original repertoire written for his instrument.
